- capture
The configured period in which a pipeline has activated its data ingest. It may contain many scans.
- EDD identifier
Provenance identifier generated by the Master Controller from the provision time and configuration and measurement counters.
- measuring pipeline
A pipeline that enters
readyafter capture start and uses prepare, start, and stop transitions for each scan.- pipeline
A provisioned component implementing the common EDD KATCP state model.
- plugin
An independently versioned Ansible Galaxy collection providing EDD pipelines, services, roles, software, dashboards, or tests.
- product
One configured pipeline instance identified by a unique ID in a provision description.
- provision description
Paired Ansible YAML and JSON configuration that maps an observing mode to hardware and connects its products.
- service
A normally persistent component that does not participate in the observational pipeline state model.
- site repository
Version-controlled inventory, playbooks, provision descriptions, plugin pins, and observatory-specific integration for one EDD deployment.
- stream descriptor
Versioned metadata contract describing the semantics, dimensions, timing, and transport of data exchanged between pipelines.
- streaming pipeline
A pipeline that enters
streamingafter capture start and continues across measurement commands.- TCS

Telescope Metadata Interface, the site adapter that supplies normalized observation metadata to EDD.
